EXTRA ORDINARY EFFORT, RECOUNTING GOOD DEEDS…A NEW YEARS RESOLUTION

Contrary to a common misconception, I have always believed that people are not born lazy. We cannot deny the fact that there were times we felt just like anybody else who doesn’t want to move and stay as lazy as we are.

Now, it’s year 2015. On January 1, the whole world celebrated not only the dawn of a new beginning but a new year. It was a chance for us to witness the coming of this event for it only happens once a year. Many people have waited this New Year for it was another privileged to recount all the good deeds from the previous year and if they really changed their lives, in and out. Hence, I believe this is the time to actively participate and reshape our destiny and prove to the world that indeed, we are not lazy. This can only happen if each of us starts in ourselves.

When New Year comes, it’s a common practice among people to make resolutions. Making resolution is so easy and simple.  Making one and putting it into practice are two different things, however. Many people do this because everybody is doing it, but after a day or two, resolutions go as fast as they come.

Making resolutions entail discipline and will power. It should not be an ordinary list that after a day of doing it will taking for granted. They have to be realistic and achievable. It should be straight forward to our desired goals. We can keep a mental scoreboard of our accomplishments to check our progress. If we want a change, it should not be dependent on others except ourselves. We should persevere and focus our attention to our goals. What has been started should finish until the end. This is a big accomplishment if we do seriously our resolutions. This must be done without violating any natural or man-made laws. We must remain in constant harmony with the forces of nature. Lastly, let us look forward to the future. It would help if once in a while we would check if the results our endeavors were truly beneficial to other people and us or not. If not discard them and start anew.

For they say, walk a mile and make an extra ordinary effort towards our goal, recounting good deeds and doing it better for this year will be a great accomplishment.  A new year’s resolution is a best guide to start our year with a big bang of luck and prosperity. Make it boom!
