EDUCATION...IT'S A TREASURE!

Problems are experienced more strongly nowadays. They come in different forms like crimes, corruptions, poverty, injustice and many more. How can these problems be eliminated in a country?

Ironically, most of these problems are perpetrated by learned and educated men whom we have trusted to cure the ills of the society. Why? Simple—they believe they can get away with it, fast and clean.

Confronted with this truth, many of you may disagree with me if I say that we can solve these problems with the same weapon that these “men” use to shield themselves-education.

Education can lead us to the answers to our endless questions but its value is more often not realized until it’s too late.

Acceptance and respect in the society is wide open to an educated person. Finding a job is easier and more possible to one who has finished a degree. These are only few of the many advantages one gets by having a good education.
Sadly, though, many students don’t realize this. They neglect their studies and opt to lead a “happy-go-lucky” lifestyle. They tend to give more priority to what they consider is fun—going out with friends, skipping classes, cheating during examinations instead of getting a book or a newspaper to know what’s going on around us.
Do you not realize how lucky you are because you’re in the school instead of begging foods in the street or earning a living for your family?
Some students use personal or family problems as an excuse for their negligence in studies without realizing that these obstacles make them stronger and braver individuals.
Think deeply, observe and look at the street children who are forced to work at a very early age in order to survive. Or the handicapped who despite their limitations continue to fight and struggle to earn. Did they choose this kind of life? Probably not.
It is never too late to change. The road to success is right before you, waiting to be traversed. Do the best in whatever you do because it will put you in a better place someday. Have faith and believe that you can win over yourself, that you can make a difference in this world.
