ENLIGHTENING ONESELF FOR NEW SELF-TRANSFORMATION

We remind ourselves each day that it may be another day on our lives because we are a day older and therefore more experienced, better informed and more qualified. Come sun down and looking back we discover that we really haven’t changed at all. Sometimes it’s easy for us to say that we really changed. But, after a day still the old you still exists. It’s really harder to escape from old self.

So we come to face another year. Certain tasks are needed for practices, new sets of       challenges and renewal of selves from old creation is a thing to remember this year.  Many times we ask ourselves; “Will I do better this time?” No matter how we consider ourselves, still our old incredulous face is trying to convince us and telling outright; “It’s all up to you!” Whatever questions we ask from ourselves, if we not take our actions straight forward with the changes that we wanted, still our foot will be stuck from its position and there will be no longer changes.

Chances are given to us and if we really want change, all we need is to stand on our two feet and put all necessary actions. Just like anybody else, we have the gift of will and we can make a difference! Believe that no matter how hard it is as long as you are determined to change, it will be happened. I do believe that there is a gradual movement in changing oneself. It’s not that easy to change from the old you, but if you make it, you can now have a fully self- transformation.

There are different corners in this world, some are sufficient for our personal changes. Some are full of confusions that may imprison our spirit. Some are like dusts in the desert that are easily carried away by strong wind. But whatever we do, changes should come from deep with ourselves.

We can begin by doing things right, right decisions, right actions and right values. We can live in changes as long as faith is within us. We know that Christ dwells in our heart to give us strength and courage, to guide us through the years and in our darkest hours day by day until we have the light for changes forever.

THE SCHOOL AND ITS ROLE IN TEACHING STUDENTS VALUES

The students’ welfare is the primordial concern of the school; it is being one of the basic social institutions in a country. It aims to develop every young boy and girl into worthy citizens as evidenced by many educational programs and reforms introduced to suit and address the needs of the learners. Its goal is not only to provide nourishment to the mind but development of the body and spirit, as well.

There were different curriculum programs that are being implemented to increase the academic performance of the learners and sustain the needs quality education in the society. Such programs endeavor will imbue positive values into the learners aside from the usual character education in the curriculum. However, implementing curricular programs may not always be successful just like what we are expecting. There were also some lapses behind that implementation. It may be a trial and error basis before it is fully implemented for a long term.

Despite these efforts, however, the problems like absenteeism, gambling, smoking, discourtesy, vandalism and many more continue to thrive in schools like the “perennial grass”. Why is this so? Why have the schools, which are tasked to shelter the students, seem to be falling short in carrying out their duties and responsibilities?  Who’s to be blamed in these cases? Is it always the teachers or the parents of the students? It’s really hard to point out what could be the roots of such problems.

                 Are they, indeed?

The school is a place of formation, as one brilliant educator has pointed out. In schools, teachers hurdle a big task of sharing knowledge and developing skills of the learners among other things they are tasked to perform. Like a hen that protects her young from harm with her life, the teachers primarily look after the welfare of the students.

The school, on the other hand, is not a place for reformation. Hence, teaching values to the students should not be relegated solely to the schools. All institutions, particularly the home, must work hand in hand so that these problems will be curbed and thus, make our youths responsible individuals into whose hands we shall entrust our future.

EDUCATION...IT'S A TREASURE!

Problems are experienced more strongly nowadays. They come in different forms like crimes, corruptions, poverty, injustice and many more. How can these problems be eliminated in a country?

Ironically, most of these problems are perpetrated by learned and educated men whom we have trusted to cure the ills of the society. Why? Simple—they believe they can get away with it, fast and clean.

Confronted with this truth, many of you may disagree with me if I say that we can solve these problems with the same weapon that these “men” use to shield themselves-education.

Education can lead us to the answers to our endless questions but its value is more often not realized until it’s too late.

Acceptance and respect in the society is wide open to an educated person. Finding a job is easier and more possible to one who has finished a degree. These are only few of the many advantages one gets by having a good education.
Sadly, though, many students don’t realize this. They neglect their studies and opt to lead a “happy-go-lucky” lifestyle. They tend to give more priority to what they consider is fun—going out with friends, skipping classes, cheating during examinations instead of getting a book or a newspaper to know what’s going on around us.
Do you not realize how lucky you are because you’re in the school instead of begging foods in the street or earning a living for your family?
Some students use personal or family problems as an excuse for their negligence in studies without realizing that these obstacles make them stronger and braver individuals.
Think deeply, observe and look at the street children who are forced to work at a very early age in order to survive. Or the handicapped who despite their limitations continue to fight and struggle to earn. Did they choose this kind of life? Probably not.
It is never too late to change. The road to success is right before you, waiting to be traversed. Do the best in whatever you do because it will put you in a better place someday. Have faith and believe that you can win over yourself, that you can make a difference in this world.

As they say, EDUCATION…It's a TREASURE!

A LIGHT THAT LEADS TO SUCCESS

(Image from www.worksmartmompreneurs.com)

Every people meets his own battlefield, every way to pass by, road to travel, mountain to climb, ring for the exchanged of punches, and sports to be played.

Our life as an individual is being likened to these things. Our life is a journey, from our birth to the coldness of the tomb. It is a travel from one place to another with guide, direction and with goal. Life everyday is not simple. We must take a great effort to surpass everyday’s challenges and hope that another day of opportunity will come and ready to grab it.

Everyday is a fight and everything is a challenge. My life, as an individual, is to be likened in sports. Sports are things played with rules to follow, peopled to be obeyed and things to have.

             (Image from : advance-pt.com)

We can compare ourselves to an athlete in a battlefield that runs in the right runway. We must have to begin in the starting point. To be able to run surely on the way of life, we must follow the rules. Let us be disciplined and physically fit. We must practice to be really prepared for the fight. To have the successful finish line, never carry any weight materials of failures so that you can run well.

Let us run straight forward and the guts of glory… Never get distracted. Aim high as you run the race of life.

To be able to go to the land of success, every runner must accept failure. When we are down, we must forget it. Take it as a challenge. In case we win, share what we have. If ever we lost, be patient. God prepares a right time for us, just wait. We should not be jealous with others achievements or success of victory.

In life’s marathon race we should never think with the competitors. Think positive, they may be our friends. Have a good relationship with them.

                                                                            (Image from: godisnear.files.wordpress.com)
In whatever endeavor, whatever we do, we must ask God’s guidance and His help to have strength in taking the long distance fight and help us to stand with our own feet. Always think that no matter how far the distance in taking the race we should have a positive outlook that after our struggles and difficulties encountered we will receive the fruit of our success.

On the other hand, we must not only look to the power but also the resistance-power to solve trials, problems and endurance to fight. We are over comers of our own faith, runners of our own success and a winner of our own fight.

Even though we are runners in a runway that full of lines of discouragement, humps of competition and hurdle of trials, we must not others. We must love them as our self.

We must run slow but steady; slowly but surely and normal so we can win.

Every runner has no will to lose… but to win. Even if there are no chances to get the honor, what is important is that you took and finish the race, the battle. There are so many chances and possibilities to happen. After all, our lives’ does not end in a competition. But taking any chances to win will surely reach the peak of success. So, whatever we do, we must take the fight. Let us not for the prize. Let us be a winner at the same time an over comer…
